How To Use
Push back cuticles and cleanse nails with a lint-free wipe and alcohol or acetone to remove surface oils.
Apply 2 even layers of BREATHABLE color and allow to dry. Pro Tip: Keep your brush parallel to the nail to deposit color rather than dragging it off the nail.
Maintain your manicure using ORLY Cuticle Oil 2x a day.

What is BREATHABLE?
Our BREATHABLE nail lacquer is uniquely formulated to allow water vapor and oxygen to pass through the polish, supporting a healthier nail environment. As they dry, they contract back to their original shape—a constant cycle that causes traditional polish to crack or chip.
BREATHABLE moves with your nails. Its permeable formula flexes as your nail plate expands and contracts, minimizing chipping and peeling. Designed as a true one-step system, BREATHABLE delivers vibrant color without the need for a basecoat or topcoat. Just paint and go—your nails will thank you.
Why doesn’t my BREATHABLE look smooth and even?
Every nail is unique—and if you have ridges or an uneven nail surface, you may notice polish settling or pooling in certain areas. In these cases, BREATHABLE might not deliver the smooth results you’re after.
For a more perfected finish, we recommend our Pro Lacquer system. Start with one coat of Nail Armor to smooth and prime the surface, followed by two coats of your favorite ORLY lacquer and a finishing layer of ORLY topcoat. The result? A beautifully even, salon-quality manicure.
Why do my nails keep breaking?
Every nail has a natural "stress point," where daily pressure meets the limits of your nail’s length. If your nails consistently break at the same spot, it may be time to adjust your routine. Start by being more mindful of how much pressure you place on your nails throughout the day. Keep them flexible with regular cuticle oil application, which helps nails bend rather than break. For added strength, try a nail-reinforcing treatment or protect them with a UV-cured gel overlay like GELFX Bodyguard.
How thick should my layers be when applying polish?
As you pull the brush from the bottle, gently wipe one side against the rim to remove excess lacquer. This helps the polish settle evenly on the brush, leaving just the right amount for a clean, controlled application. For best results, apply a thin, even layer—this ensures smooth coverage and optimal drying time.
How can I make my ORLY BREATHABLE last longer?
Before applying color, start with a clean canvas. Use acetone or alcohol to remove any surface oils and cleanse the nail plate thoroughly. Apply two thin coats of your BREATHABLE color for optimal wear and even coverage.
To extend the life of your manicure, apply BREATHABLE Cuticle Oil twice daily. This helps keep your nails and polish flexible—so your color moves with your nails, not against them—reducing the risk of chips and cracks.
Is BREATHABLE damaging to my natural nails?
Nope! All of our nail products are developed with your nail health in mind. Our products will not damage your nails when used properly with the exception of extremely rare allergic reactions. Nail damage comes from improper use and improper removal of nail products. Always be sure to follow application and removal protocols for best results!
