This formula contains both vitamin C and niacinamide – which historically were never combined in a formula due to stability issues. Decades ago, vitamin C was considered difficult to stabilize correctly (it oxidized easily), so studies conducted back then showed an incompatibility of vitamin C with other ingredients like niacinamide (a form of B3).
